The country singer performed the National Anthem before the Colorado Avalanche faced off against the Minnesota Wild, marking a crucial moment in her comeback journey. Andress shared her performance on Instagram, captioning it with an exuberant, “We’re back baby! Thank you, Colorado Avalanche!”

This performance comes seven months after Andress faced considerable backlash for her rendition of the National Anthem at the 2024 Home Run Derby. The criticism led her to check herself into rehab, where she sought help for her struggles with alcohol. Following the controversial performance, Andress candidly admitted on Instagram that she had been intoxicated during the event. “I’m not going to lie, I was drunk last night. I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night,” she expressed, offering her apologies to Major League Baseball, the fans, and the nation.

Andress’s recent appearance with the Avalanche is seen as the first step in her journey back to the spotlight. She is also scheduled to perform at the renowned GR Gallery on March 8 and has released her first single since completing rehab, titled “Footprints.” Announcing the song’s release on March 3 through X (formerly Twitter), Andress reflected on her upbringing and the pressures of success, sharing insights into her personal struggles and growth.

In her message, Andress acknowledged the intense pressure she felt growing up, where hard work was synonymous with success, and failure was viewed as a personal shortcoming. “As a kid, it was a scary thing to hear. This inability to fail brought me great success but also brought extreme burnout and more fear than joy,” she explained. Through her new single, she emphasizes the importance of embracing failure as an integral part of life, stating, “The most human thing on earth is failing… but getting back on the same damn horse anyway.”

“Footprints” serves as a reminder to herself and those she loves that she is doing her best to navigate the complexities of life. With this new chapter, Ingrid Andress is poised to re-establish herself in the country music scene, embodying resilience and authenticity as she shares her journey with her fans.
