Rapper Yella Beezy, whose real name is Maris DeAndre Conway, has been arrested and indicted on a charge of capital murder in connection with the 2020 shooting death of fellow musician Mo3, whose real name was Melvin Noble. This significant development emerged following a grand jury indictment on March 18, according to court documents obtained by E! News.
The indictment alleges that Conway, 33, played a pivotal role in orchestrating the murder of Mo3 by hiring an individual identified as Kiwan Dantrell White to carry out the shooting. As of now, court records do not indicate if Conway has legal representation, and inquiries made by E! News to White’s representatives have gone unanswered.
The news of Conway’s arrest has been met with a sense of relief from Mo3’s family. Noble’s mother, Nicole Williams Noble, expressed her gratitude for the legal progress on Facebook, stating, “Justice for my baby,” shortly after the indictment was made public.
Mo3 was tragically killed in November 2020 on a Dallas freeway. According to police reports, he was approached by White, who allegedly exited his vehicle and initiated a foot chase, ultimately shooting the rapper multiple times. Dallas Police Sergeant Warren Mitchell detailed the harrowing events, stating that Mo3 fled his vehicle but was pursued and shot by the assailant. Despite efforts to save him, Mo3 was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly after the incident. A bystander was also injured during the shooting, but their injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.
Kiwan Dantrell White, the alleged hitman, was arrested and charged with Mo3’s murder in December 2020, with a subsequent indictment occurring in February 2021. Additionally, another individual, Devin Maurice Brown, was indicted in April 2021 for allegedly assisting in coordinating the murder.
The case has garnered significant attention within the music community and among fans, highlighting ongoing issues of violence and crime that impact artists. As legal proceedings unfold, the focus remains on seeking justice for Mo3 and addressing the circumstances surrounding his untimely death. The developments in this case are being closely monitored as they continue to resonate with those affected by the loss of the talented Dallas-based rapper.
