‘Drunk Karen’ Goes Wild at The Holiday Inn: Police (video)

In a troubling incident at the Holiday Inn in Barrow County, Georgia, a 32-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly causing a disturbance and making false claims of assault. The woman, identified as Amy Baxter, reportedly called 911 multiple times claiming she had been attacked, but ended the calls when pressed for details.

Around 8:00 p.m., hotel staff contacted the police after Baxter, who had been dropped off at the hotel by officers earlier in the day, began yelling and making accusations against a male guest who had just arrived. Witnesses reported that Baxter was screaming from her second-floor room and pointing at the man, alleging he had assaulted her. However, police later determined that her claims were inconsistent and lacked credible details.

Upon their arrival, officers spoke with Baxter, who appeared intoxicated. She initially stated that someone had entered her room and consumed her tequila but struggled to provide a coherent description of the alleged intruder. Baxter’s explanations became increasingly erratic as she attempted to convey her version of events. She requested a “white officer,” raising concerns about her state of mind and possibly indicating racial bias.

As the situation escalated, Baxter’s behavior became more disruptive. Hotel staff reported that she was slamming phones and yelling, prompting officers to take action. Despite the officers’ efforts to clarify her accusations and ensure her safety, Baxter continued to resist cooperation, citing her desire to speak only with a white officer.

Ultimately, Baxter was arrested for public intoxication, disturbing the peace, and obstruction of justice. Officers reported that she continued to express racial bias during her arrest, stating she did not want to speak with officers of certain racial backgrounds. This incident highlights ongoing issues related to public intoxication and the complexities of race relations in law enforcement interactions.

Baxter was taken into custody and transported to jail, where she remained uncooperative. The incident raises questions regarding the responsibilities of hotel management and law enforcement when dealing with intoxicated guests, as well as the broader implications of racial bias in crisis situations. The Barrow County police continue to investigate the matter, and it serves as a reminder of the potential consequences of public disturbances and the importance of clear communication in emergency situations.
