™ ‘King of Gangsters’ Tyson Fury postpones retirement, returns to the ring in 2026

After a period of announcing his retirement from the sport, Tyson Fury, the former heavyweight champion, has agreed to return to the boxing ring with potential matches against Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua.

This information was confirmed by Mr. Turki Alalshikh, a powerful figure in the Saudi Arabian sports industry, on social network X. In the post, Alalshikh confirmed that he had a conversation with Fury and received a commitment from the “King of the Gangsters” to compete again within the framework of the Riyadh Season in 2026.

It was a surprising turn of events, as just a few months earlier Fury had declared himself content with his career and had no intention of returning. However, since his second defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, who defeated Fury in a fight for the undisputed title, the Briton has repeatedly expressed his desire to meet his opponent in the ring again.

Fury promises to return in 2026.

Fury’s return was also reinforced by a widely circulated photo of him shaking hands with Alalshikh as evidence of the new deal. In the announcement, Alalshikh also used Fury’s nickname for Usyk, “The Rabbit,” to emphasize the potential third fight between the two.

Not stopping there, Fury’s return also opens up the possibility of organizing the long-awaited “British civil war” with Anthony Joshua. Joshua is currently recovering from surgery and is expected to return late next year, with rumored opponents such as Jared Anderson or Deontay Wilder.

Usyk, Fury’s biggest rival, is about to defend his belt against Daniel Dubois. If Usyk retains his title, the prospect of a third rematch with Fury in Saudi Arabia will become even more apparent. Tyson Fury’s return in 2026 is not only a chance to make amends after two defeats, but also a chance to write a glorious final chapter in the “Gypsy King’s” illustrious career.
