The sequel to her 2017 blockbuster Wonder Woman will be arriving in theaters and HBO Max on Christmas day.
But Gal Gadot took some time to herself to relax ahead of her whirlwind promotion for Wonder Woman 1984 in a new photo shared to Instagram on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old actress looked completely at ease while showing off her makeup-free look and her flawless skin.
Gal was lying peacefully on an outdoor sofa while wearing a white sundress with gray and beige designs.
The dress was hiked up to show off her fit legs, and she rested one arm on the top of her head.
The 5ft10in Israeli star had her raven tresses tied back, and she had a beverage by her side to help her unwind.
She had a peaceful, soft smile on her face, and she fittingly captioned the photo: ‘The calm before the storm…’
Gal didn’t specify what the ‘storm’ was, but she’s staying busy despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The Wonder Woman star will likely be doing plenty of media appearances for her upcoming film, which moves from the early Twentieth Century to the mid-1980s.
Little has been revealed about the film’s plot, but Wonder Woman will be dealing with the antagonists Maxwell Lord (The Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal) and the supervillain Cheetah (Kristen Wiig).
The film also marks the return of Chris Pine’s character Steve Trevor, though he seemingly perished at the end of the first film and would have been an old man even if he miraculously survived.
Patty Jenkins, who directed the first Wonder Woman film to more than $800 million in grosses, will be back at the helm for the newest installment.
She’ll also be working with Gal again on a future project, a biopic about the Egyptian queen Cleopatra.
Elizabeth Taylor famously played the ruler in the 1963 version directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, which was savaged by critics at the time but has been viewed more favorably in recent years.
The movie was the most expensive made at the time and nearly bankrupted 20th Century Fox.
Gal has already completed filming on a more recent period piece, the Agatha Christie murder-mystery Death On The Nile.
She stars as part of an ensemble with Armie Hammer, Annette Benning, Russell Brand and Rose Leslie, while the film’s director, Kenneth Branagh, will reprise his role as the iconic detective Hercule Poirot.
The film has been removed from 20th Century Studios’ release schedule due to the pandemic, suggesting it will be released in 2021 or ’22.
