Eminem’s Grammy Comeback Looks Possible

It has been nearly a decade since Eminem last took home a Grammy, but that could be about to change.

With the release of his latest album, “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)”, fans are thinking about the possibility of Marshall making a grand return to music’s biggest stage.

The album is already a huge hit, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, ending Taylor Swift’s impressive run at the top. Its lead single, “Houdini”, has racked up almost half a billion streams and reached No. 2 on the Hot 100. Other tracks from the album have also climbed the charts, making this one of Eminem’s most successful releases in years.

The last time Eminem won a Grammy was back in 2015 when “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” took home Best Rap Album, and his collaboration with Rihanna on “The Monster” won Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. His most recent nomination came in 2019 for “Lucky You” with Joyner Lucas, which was up for Best Rap Song.

With “The Death of Slim Shady” marking the end of his iconic alter ego, fans and critics alike are speculating that the album could land a Best Rap Album nomination, and “Houdini” might earn nods for Best Rap Song or Best Rap Performance. According to Forbes, there is even talk of his collaboration with Jelly Roll, “Somebody Save Me”, being a contender for Best Melodic Rap Performance.

Of course, this is all just speculation for now, but the internet is full of fan-made “for Grammy consideration” posts, and excitement is building. Whether or not the notoriously Grammy-critical rapper will embrace another nomination is anyone’s guess. Still, there is no denying that “The Death of Slim Shady” has the potential to bring Eminem back to the Grammy spotlight.

The first round of voting is open now, and the Academy will announce the nominees on November 8.

With 15 Grammy wins and 44 nominations under his belt, it would not be surprising if the Rap God makes his return at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Fans are eager, but will Marshall be bothered for another showdown with the Grammys? What are your thoughts?
