Oblock Munna Mond Arrested For Killing Oblock Aroy (Full Story)

Jaman Brown, known by the alias “Munna,” was arrested on May 5, 2025, in connection with a fatal shooting that took place in December 2021. The arrest was made in Chicago’s 2600 block of South California Avenue, following a coordinated effort between the Chicago Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. Brown, 21, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 27-year-old man, identified as Aroy, on December 13, 2021.

The incident, which occurred in the 6400 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, gained widespread attention due to its graphic nature, having been captured on video. According to reports, Brown and Aroy were involved in a physical altercation that escalated when Aroy gained the upper hand. In response, Brown allegedly drew a firearm and shot Aroy multiple times. The violent episode was live-streamed on Instagram by a bystander, making it visible to a broad audience shortly after the act took place.

In the aftermath of the shooting, tensions mounted between the members of the Oblock community, with Aroy’s brother, known as Big P, seeking retribution against Brown. The altercation sparked a series of retaliatory acts, further escalating the violence within the area. Eyewitness accounts suggest that Big P attempted to confront Brown, threatening him in retaliation for his brother’s death.

Despite the incident being widely publicized and recorded, authorities took nearly four years to apprehend Brown. The delay in arrest raised questions among community members regarding the effectiveness of law enforcement in addressing gang-related violence. Law enforcement officials indicated that the lengthy investigation was necessary to gather sufficient evidence to ensure a successful prosecution.

Following his arrest, Brown was taken into custody without incident, and he is currently awaiting trial. His case continues to highlight the ongoing issues of gun violence and gang rivalry in Chicago, as community leaders and law enforcement grapple with the implications of such incidents on public safety.

As the situation unfolds, residents and observers are urged to reflect on the impact of violence in their communities, as well as the importance of collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies to address and prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
