A Florida man has been arrested following a shocking indictment for making violent threats against U.S. Attorney Alina Habba, igniting serious concerns over threats to federal officials. Salvador Risotto, 39, was taken into custody in Orlando this morning after a grand jury in the Middle District of Florida charged him with multiple counts of interstate threats to injure Habba, who is known for her high-profile legal battles.

The threats, which surfaced on social media, included chilling messages such as “a slow painful death” for Habba and calls for lethal consequences for those he deemed “traders.” These alarming posts were made shortly after a controversial media discussion surrounding violent rhetoric, raising fears of escalating hostility against public officials.

U.S. Attorney Greg Kahoe and FBI Special Agent Matt Foder held a press conference to address the arrest, emphasizing the swift action taken by law enforcement. “We will not tolerate threats against anyone, especially not against those serving our communities,” Kahoe stated, underscoring the commitment to protecting public officials and ensuring safety across the region.

Foder added, “Posting threats online will not provide you with a disguise or distance. When you hit send, you will face the consequences.” The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the FBI, U.S. Marshals, and local law enforcement, showcasing a robust response to threats of violence.

As the nation grapples with rising threats against officials, this case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by those in public service. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. The message is clear: threats will be met with swift and decisive action.
