**BREAKING: 13 Dead, Dozens Missing in Chaotic Texas Floods**

In a catastrophic turn of events, Texas is reeling from devastating floods that have claimed at least 13 lives and left dozens missing, with search and rescue operations underway. The extreme weather struck Kerr County, approximately 90 miles northwest of San Antonio, where the Guadalupe River rapidly swelled, sweeping away homes and entire RV parks with families trapped inside.

As of this afternoon, officials have confirmed the grim death toll, and the number is expected to rise as rescue teams continue to sift through the wreckage. Acting Texas Governor Dan Patrick has called the situation “extremely active,” urging residents near creeks and rivers to seek higher ground immediately. Eyewitness reports describe harrowing scenes of families clinging to trees and rooftops as floodwaters surged.

The National Weather Service had issued a flash flood emergency early this morning, warning of unprecedented rainfall that reached up to 10 inches in some areas. Emergency responders, including 14 helicopters and hundreds of personnel, are racing against time to locate approximately 23 children unaccounted for from Camp Mystic, a summer camp that housed over 750 kids. The frantic search is complicated by ongoing rainfall and dangerous conditions.

Governor Patrick emphasized that no additional air support is needed, as the coordinated response is already overwhelming. He reassured anxious parents that every effort is being made to find their missing children, but warned against self-deployment to the area, which could hinder rescue operations.

As rescue crews battle the elements, officials are imploring the public to stay away from flooded roads and heed evacuation orders. With more rain forecasted, the situation remains precarious, and the community braces for potentially more devastating impacts. The focus now is on saving lives and bringing those missing back to safety.
