Horse Vet Had Sex with ’Soulmate’ Teen, Threatened to Kill Her Mom

A prominent veterinarian in the horse community, Greg Ford, has been accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl and threatening her mother, according to federal law enforcement officials. Ford, who is in his 50s, reportedly described the teenager as his “soulmate” and allegedly made chilling threats against her mother when confronted about the relationship.

Based in Houston, Texas, Ford has built a reputation for helping horses across several states, including Alabama, where the allegations surfaced. The case came to light after the girl’s mother discovered explicit text messages on her daughter’s phone, prompting her to report the matter to law enforcement on August 22. The investigation revealed that Ford and the teenager had allegedly engaged in sexual activity multiple times, exchanging nude photographs while he traveled for work.

As the investigation progressed, Ford reportedly sent a series of alarming text messages to the girl’s mother. In one message, he allegedly threatened to have her killed, saying he paid a “dear friend” from the CIA to “long rifle a bullet into your chest.” He also criticized the mother for her actions, stating, “You sure have made a mess of things, that’s for sure,” and attempted to manipulate her by claiming that the relationship with her daughter was genuine.

On September 23, more than a month after the mother contacted authorities, Ford allegedly left a voicemail for the victim, expressing his feelings of love and gratitude. In the message, he referred to her as the “greatest blessing” he had ever received and urged her to “tell our love story.” He further stated, “No one can take away our love,” and expressed a desire for her family to understand their connection.

Ford was arrested shortly after sending the voicemail and is currently being held without bond on charges of sexual assault against a minor. Federal authorities are concerned that there may be additional victims, given Ford’s extensive travel for work. Legal experts suggest that the federal nature of the charges could lead to significant penalties, potentially allowing for multiple state and federal charges to be filed.

The case raises serious questions about the dynamics of power and manipulation, particularly in relationships involving minors and adults in positions of authority. Advocates for victims’ rights emphasize the importance of supporting the alleged victim and any others who may come forward as the investigation unfolds.

As the legal proceedings commence, the focus remains on ensuring justice for the alleged victim and addressing the broader implications of such predatory behavior. Ford’s case serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers that can lurk behind seemingly trustworthy facades.
