His replacement, Andre Onana, has struggled to adapt to life in Manchester as he has been at fault for several goals.
The most recent came against Brentford on Saturday, as Mathias Jensen put the visitors ahead before Man United turned it around in the last minute through two Scott McTominay goals.
During the match, former United shot-stopper De Gea took to Instagram as he showed he was playing video games rather as his former side played.

Posting an immage of him shooting around a corner, the Spaniard captioned his picture with ‘Perfect timing’.
While United’s match against Brentford was not telivised live in the United Kingdom, De Gea took the opportunity to play some video games.
It remains to be seen as to whether the goalkeeper will find himself a new club by the time the January transfer window opens.
For United, they will be hoping that Onana can prove his doubters wrong and return to his best as he showcased during his time with Inter Milan.
