She rose to fame thanks to her country music and wholesome style.
But Taylor Swift looked a far cry from her Love Story days as she writhed around the stage at the Verizon Center in Washington DC on Sunday, embracing a more rocky image.
Wearing black hotpants, a bra top and patent high-heeled boots, the 23-year-old embraced her racy side, throwing herself around as she tried out some new moves, during the next leg of her Red tour.
Proving that she’s no longer the saccharine sweet pop princess that she became known for, the award-winning singer gave an edgy performance.
Backed by a troupe of male dancers, Taylor performed her chart-topping hits while showcasing her boundless energy as she ran around the stage.
Wearing the black and gold halterneck top and hotpants the star seemed completely confident about leaving little to the imagination.
And showing the world that her image is constantly developing, the Trouble singer performed a number of edgy moves, throwing herself on her knees at one point as she sang.
The starlet, who’s dated the likes of John Mayer, Harry Styles and Jake Gyllenhaal, wore her blonde hair tousled and added a splash of red lipstick to match her microphone and bright nails.
And it seems that the star was having a much fun as it looked like, writing on Twitter: ‘I love this tour. I love Washington DC crowds. I love that we get to play here tomorrow night too.’
But instead of getting in some last minute rehearsal time ahead of the show, Taylor made sure that she spent Mother’s Day with her family.
‘So happy to have spent Mother’s Day with my mom, dad, and brother–and also a sold out crowd of wonderful people in Washington DC,’ she wrote.
In between her hectic schedule, Taylor has found time to flex her acting muscles, making a cameo in the Season 2 finale of New Girl, opposite Zooey Deschanel.
Jake Johnson – who portrays Nick Miller in the show – jokingly complained that she handled her day on set like she had been doing it for years.
He said: ‘She came in and is really nice. It’s not an easy scene. There were probably 70 extras there — though I’m sure she performs to so much bigger [crowds] than that on a regular basis.
The We Are Never Getting Back Together singer has also just moved into her new $17m beachfront mansion on Rhode Island.
