Charlie helped The Benjamin School win the Florida high school state golf tournament on Wednesday at the Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-In-The-Hills.
Despite his numerous accolades, Tiger Woods never won a state high school championship at Western High School in Anaheim, California.
The 14-year-old Woods was tied for 26th overall and fourth out of five golfers for The Benjamin School’s boys team, which won the FHSAA Class A state championship.
According to the Palm Beach Post, Charlie, a freshman, had his best day of the tournament on Day 2 with a 76, helping The Benjamin School win the title.
Tiger came there to support his son by seeing him participate in the event.
A snapshot released to the Palm Beach Post showed Woods, 47, watching in the background behind The Benjamin School athletes during the competition.The 15-time major champion was dressed in all black, with sunglasses on his head.
Tiger did not caddy for Charlie during the tournament, which would have violated FHSAA tournament rules, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Sophomore Jake Valentine’s birdie on the 17th hole and putt on the 18th helped seal the victory.
While Charlie may now claim a title that his father never won, it’s worth noting why.
Tiger Woods played high school golf at Western, although the California Interscholastic Federation did not hold state championships in the sport.
He did, however, win the CIF Southern California Regional in 1991.

Tiger also won the Southern Section championship in 1991, 1993, and 1994.
In 1991, he became the youngest golfer in history to win the United States Junior Amateur Championship.
