Is ‘Euphoria’ Officially Over Delayed? Cast Free to ‘Pursue Other Opportunities’

Your favorite horny-high school HBO drama just might be on its last legs.

As “Euphoria” fans have been desperately waiting for some closure on the series, a series of production delays have kept the show on ice. However, that hasn’t stopped the stars of the show from moving on with their careers, as reported by Deadline.

Zendaya is THE Zendaya of “Dune” and a bonafide red carpet showstopper, Coleman Domingo is an Academy Award-nominated actor, Sydney Sweeney is building an impressive rom-com resume, and Jacob Elordi has become the apple of everyone’s eye since his critically-acclaimed role in “Saltburn.”

And now HBO is officially telling the show’s stars to play the field.

“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season,” the network said. “In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”

If you’ve been in a relationship, then you know what “pursue other opportunities” means.

With the cast still bound by their contracts, HBO has hinted that it hopes to bring season 3 of the show back in 2025.

Will we still care then?

In a 2023 interview for Elle, Levinson seemingly had plans to make season 3 of the show more “film noir,” adding that he had plans to delve deeper into Zendaya’s character’s complexity.

And now, we guess, fans will have to wait even longer. Will you be watching when it finally returns? The show runners might have to plan for some serious de-aging if they are to convince us that the cast is still in high school.
