CM Punk gives peek behind the curtain on live WWE TV as he takes snaps hiding under the ring during raw after WrestleMania’s main event

CM Punk has given fans a behind-the-scenes peek from beneath the ring at the AT&T Stadium last weekend.

Punk posted the Instagram snap, taken during RAW after the WrestleMania 40 main event, on Thursday afternoon.

Slap bang in the middle of the photograph sit commentators Pat McAfee and Michael Cole – and it appears Punk got caught red-handed sneaking the snap.

McAfee is looking directly down the camera lens with what looks like a face of shock and incredulity.

Perhaps he slightly taken aback to see a former WWE champion lurking in the shadows capturing surreptitious images of him.

Minutes later, Punk would emerge to attack Drew McIntyre after he won the World Heavyweight title.

That enabled Damian Priest to quickly become the new champion, cashing in on his Money in the Bank briefcase.

‘I will never forgive CM Punk for ruining this moment,’ said McIntyre in reaction.

Speaking in a recent interview with ESPN, CM Punk spoke about targeting McIntyre.

He said: ‘I wanted to make Drew interesting. I wanted to show him that what’s important isn’t on the internet. What’s important is inside the building.

‘Those people, after his two matches. Yes, he had two. He won one. He lost the more important one. They were chanting “CM Punk.”

‘Drew McIntyre prayed for me to be injured. He prayed for it to happen. He asked for help. He looked above and said, “God, please, take CM Punk out so I can main event WrestleMania 40.”

‘I don’t pray for things to happen. I make them happen. I’m going to keep this up until Drew loses his mind. This is my house. I came back here to prove it. Everybody is worried about who I was, who I am now. You should worry about who I’m becoming.’

It comes alongside him breaking his silence after All Elite Wrestling released footage of his controversial backstage brawl with Jack Perry in August – which saw him sacked.

AEW aired security footage of the real-life fight at ‘All in: London’ which showed him confronting Jack Perry, shoving him, putting him in a chokehold and throwing a punch.

All that took place just steps away from the Wembley crowd and by September, Punk had been dismissed. He signed for WWE in November.

He shared a photo of George W. Bush at his infamous ‘Mission Accomplished’ speech in 2013, when the American president declared that the USA and their allies had prevailed in Iraq after Saddam Hussain was overthrown.

He told Helwani that Perry stepped him and started the fight, with neither occurring in the footage.

Punk also references he had ‘people with him’, but the footage shows him approaching Perry alone.

Punk’s peculiar post comes after he gave his version of events in his interview with Helwani on ‘MMA Hour’.

The footage of the altercation aired on AEW’s flagship weekly television show, ‘Dynamite’.
