Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen and his girlfriend, model Kelly Piquet, have arrived in Australia ahead of the upcoming Melbourne Grand Prix.
The Red Bull Racing driver and his partner were spotted at Melbourne Airport earlier today, drawing attention from local fans and media as they made their way through the terminal.
Verstappen, who claimed his third consecutive drivers’ title last season, will be looking to continue his dominant form when the new F1 season gets underway at the iconic Albert Park circuit next weekend.
“It’s always great to come back to Australia,” Verstappen told reporters. “The Melbourne Grand Prix is one of the highlights of the year, and I’m excited to get out on the track and see what we can do.”
Piquet, the daughter of three-time F1 champion Nelson Piquet, has been a regular fixture by Verstappen’s side in recent years, attending many of his races around the world.
The couple, who have been dating since 2020, appeared relaxed and in good spirits as they navigated the airport, stopping to sign autographs and pose for photos with enthusiastic fans.
With practice sessions beginning on Friday, Verstappen and the rest of the F1 grid will be eager to get to work and fine-tune their machinery ahead of Sunday’s highly anticipated race.
As the reigning champion, all eyes will be on Verstappen to see if he can pick up where he left off and secure another victory on Australian soil.
