A Fashion Blogger’s Loft Is Where Nature and Chic Collide

Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: I’ve rented my apartment for over three years now with my dog Ana and for a time my cat Garfield. A loft has always been on my bucket list and when I ran across this place I knew I’d have to live there. It’s got a lot of character and a very industrial vibe, which didn’t initially jive with what look I wanted to go with, but the way the light comes in as the sun sets and the breeze moves through the apartment in the summer makes it worth every penny!

Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Where nature and chic collide.

What is your favorite room and why? My favorite room has to be my terrace. It was a huge selling point for me when I was comparing apartments. I just love laying out in the summer to catch a tan or those perfect fall evenings besides my fire pit with a good book.

If you could magically change something about your home, what would it be? It’s a tie between the bathroom and the downstairs layout. On the one hand the bathroom is very spacious for a rental but I really wish I had a bathtub. As for the layout I wish it was more open so that you could see from the living room right into the kitchen; I’ve always wanted a breakfast bar situation. Plus it would make it a lot easier for blog photos and filming my YouTube videos.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? The last thing I bought for myself was the Opalhouse Patio Egg Chair. Most egg chairs are too shallow and uncomfortable but everyone who has come over and sat in it just falls in love with it.

Any advice for creating a home you love?
Once I realized there’s really no rush and to let go of the need to have my place look perfect it made the process so much easier. I started looking at how I used my space and how I wanted to use my space then being patient until I found the perfect pieces to fit those needs.
