Recently, a startup from the US called Hyperion has officially launched a hydrogen-powered supercar.
Named Hyperion XP-1, this supercar impresses in every way, from design, technology to performance. To come up with XP-1, it took nearly 10 years of tinkering to research and test. According to the announcement, more than 200 scientists and researchers have participated in this project.
First, let’s talk about the design. Like many other supercars, XP-1 also possesses a short stature and extremely aggressive appearance, shaped from complex lines. A car like the XP-1 clearly has nothing to complain about in terms of design. Everything is too perfect, from the overall to the individual parts such as the door, wheels or lighting system.
Of course, not only is the XP-1 designed to deliver dramatic visual effects, the XP-1 is also built from ultra-lightweight materials and optimized aerodynamics as much as possible to maximize performance. work. In particular, the aerodynamic wings on the sides can turn into solar panels, helping to supplement energy when needed.
The newly released images only give us a glimpse of the cabin inside. But according to the manufacturer, this area is no less special than the exterior. Specifically, the cabin of XP-1 is equipped with a curved screen with a size of up to 98 inches and integrated gesture control technology.
However, the most interesting part on the XP-1 lies in the dynamics system. Accordingly, this supercar possesses many electric motors that are powered by a hydrogen fuel cell system and a supercapacitor – something that has been seen on the Lamborghini Sian FKP-37.
Hyperion says XP-1 takes only 2.2 seconds to accelerate from 0-97km / h. Top speed reaches more than 355km/h. In particular, the maximum operating range is up to more than 1600km – far beyond an energy-efficient car like the Toyota Prius. Because it uses hydrogen, XP-1 also takes less than 5 minutes to refuel.
One of the factors that make up these incredible numbers lies in the unbelievable mass of the XP-1. Accordingly, this hypercar model weighs only 1032kg, which is equivalent to many small ICE models.
Expected, Hyperion XP-1 will go into production from next year with a limited number of 300 units.
