Katy Perry wears eye-popping dress at concert as Beyonce scoops 10 Grammy nominations

Katy Perry looked ready to pop out of her dress last night as she announced nominees for the Grammy Awards at a concert in Los Angeles last night.

The 25-year-old singer wore a gravity-defying, patterned mini dress which just about covered her modesty as she announced those up for the best rock album prize.

The star teamed her strapless dress with towering purple-grey platforms for the event, which saw Beyonce win ten nominations.

Katy had flown back from snowy Austria for the concert, where boyfriend Russell Brand had spent time with her parents.

She later changed into another revealing dress, this time with straps and accessorised with fierce black heels and a gold handbag, for a night out with a friend.

The glitzy Grammy showbiz party was hosted by rap star LL Cool J, and those attending included many of the acts nominated and music grandees such as Motown great Smokey Robinson and former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr.

Beyonce, who was not at the event, had the most Grammy nominations, including ones for album of the year for I Am … Sasha Fierce, and song of the year for her anthem Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It).

But despite being the year’s most high profile breakthrough artist, she was not eligible to compete for Best New Artist because she had been nominated last year for the single Just Dance, before she was a platinum-selling artist.

Nominations: Fergie, from the Black Eyed Peas, wore a spiky short dress and Louboutins, while Keri Hilson wore black and white checks
