The 20 most valuable players in the world right now: Mbappe above Haaland, Saka sixth…

Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG are unsurprisingly among the big-name clubs that boast the most valuable players in world football.

But Liverpool representation is conspicuously absent from the list of the 20 most valuable footballers in Europe. Jurgen Klopp’s squad doesn’t feature any of the most highly-valued players in the sport right now.

Real Madrid-bound Jude Bellingham is valued at €120million. That makes the Borussia Dortmund midfielder the fourth most valuable player in the world at this moment. Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Man City’s Phil Foden are valued just behind their fellow England international.

Saka has recently moved into the top five after playing a talismanic role in the Gunners’ title charge last season – and Mikel Arteta’s Gunners have just locked down their star asset with a lucrative new contract that ties the 21-year-old down at the Emirates until 2027.

The two players ranked as more valuable than the England trio are unsurprisingly generation-defining talents Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, while Real Madrid’s Brazilian superstar Vinicius Junior sits just below.

Mbappe could have joined Real Madrid on a free transfer last summer but ended up staying put at PSG after signing one of the most lucrative contracts in football history. But the 24-year-old only signed a three-year deal with his hometown club, which keeps the question of the transfer circus ongoing.

Haaland only joined City last summer for a fee of €60million and has made a wildly prolific start to life in Manchester. The striker remains contracted at the Etihad until 2027. Links with Real Madrid don’t go away, but Florentino Perez would surely have to break the bank to secure the Norwegian’s signature any time soon.

Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni and Rodrygo are the other Madrid players rated at €80million or above. Only Manchester City have more representatives in the top 20, with Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Rodri alongside Foden and Haaland.

Elsewhere, Barcelona’s dynamic duo Gavi and Pedri are valued at €190million together, while Tottenham icon Harry Kane makes the cut – despite approaching the final year of his contract with his boyhood club. De Bruyne is the only player older than Kane valued at €80million or more.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s record signing Enzo Fernandez and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford feature, valued at €85million and €80million respectively.
