At just 25 years old, Donaldson creates multimillion dollar content for YouTube and definitely reaps the rewards of splashing the cash.

His videos are pretty impressive stuff, and those that watch his videos are very much aware of how regularly the YouTuber – real name Jimmy Donaldson – also shells out real money to those in his videos.

The way Donaldson makes dollar on YouTube is very different to other forms of social media.

So, the YouTuber has decided to share one of his videos to X to test how much he would make.

The successful YouTuber achieved an even more mainstream status in late 2023 when he got into a spat with Elon Musk.

Musk, one of the world’s richest human beings, completed his acquisition of Twitter (now named X) in 2022, and has tried to urge Donaldson to start utilising the platform for his content.

X-users have also called for the social media star to star sharing his videos on X.

“I uploaded, go watch or I’ll drop kick you,” Donaldson tweeted December 30.

“Upload on this platform too,” urged one person, as a second echoed: “You can upload here so we can watch in the X app.”

“I would watch it if you posted direct to X but I’m not gonna go all the way over to YouTube for it,” added a third.

Jumping on the bandwagon, Musk replied to the first tweet simply writing ‘Yeah’ in agreement.

Replying to the billionaire tech mogul, Donaldson said: “My videos cost millions to make and even if they got a billion views on X it wouldn’t fund a fraction of it.

“I’m down though to test stuff once monetization is really cranking!”

Now, MrBeast has re-uploaded a full-length video to X where he showcases a bunch of cars – from a $1 writeup up to a $100,000,000 vehicle.

“I’m curious how much ad revenue a video on X would make so I’m reuploading this to test it. Will share ad rev next week,” Donaldson captioned the video.

Musk has since retweeted the video – not that MrBeast, who has 25 million followers on X, particularly needs the exposure.

Whatever the result, it will be interesting to see the reaction from both sides after a week.
