YouTuber MrBeast signed a two-day, $10million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as part of a recent video.
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has more than 214 million subscribers on YouTube. He typically publishes videos with extravagant tasks and his digital reach is a huge reason why such grand opportunities come his way.
His video entitled ‘$1 vs $10,000,000 Job!’ which was uploaded Saturday, gained over 47 million views in the first 24 hours after it was published.
The video takes place in the middle of October and concludes with the 25-year-old Donaldson leading the Buccaneers onto the field for its game against the Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 22.
Arguably the most exciting part of MrBeast’s time with Tampa Bay was calling the team’s former quarterback, Tom Brady, on FaceTime from the practice facility.
Brady appeared in a previous MrBeast video entitled ‘$1 vs $1,000,000,000 Yacht!’ published in June. MrBeast makes the FaceTime with Tampa Bay wide receiver Chris Godwin and offensive lineman Luke Goedeke looking on.
‘How my boys doing,’ Brady said to MrBeast, Godwin, and Goedeke.
MrBeast then tells Brady he has a friend, fellow YouTuber LazarBeam, whose real name is Lannan Eacott, who might ‘die of happiness if you said hi to him.’
Brady replies ‘Lannan I love you bro,’ as Eacott pretends to faint.
Also appearing in the video are Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles, linebacker Shaquil Barrett and general manager Jason Licht.
Barrett recognized MrBeast, with the linebacker adding his kids love Donaldson as well.
Goedeke and Barrett also glanced at MrBeast’s contract with the team and state its the same form they signed with the Buccaneers.
The video shows MrBeast signing his contract with Licht, with ‘$10,000,000’ clearly written on the compensation line.
Next to it is the phrase ‘But you’re only a player for 48 hours LOL’ in brackets, meaning the whole thing can be voided.
MrBeast is also seen taking part in a press conference where he’s asked ‘Is this just a publicity stunt?’
MrBeast replies ‘Yes, it’s a publicity stunt, clearly I’m not an NFL player.’
MrBeast has a reported net worth of over $500million and is projected to the first billionaire to have YouTube earnings be their primary source of income.
