LIV Golf Update: Tiger Woods Headed Advisory Council to Assemble for Merger Endgame…

Is Tiger Woods finally stepping in? A while back, rumors were indicating how the framework agreement between the three golfing bodies is finally reaching an end. Well now, it appears that another report has popped up stipulating how the Council headed by the legend of the game would convene soon.

A tweet was shared by Josh Carpenter on his X handle (formerly known as Twitter) providing the piece of surprising news to the community. The post mentioned how “there will be a PGA Tour Player Advisory Council call tomorrow morning at 8 am ET.”

Adding on, the announcement made by the golfing body’s PR shared the time by which the details would be posted along with a message highlighting how the call would be a “listen-only” one. Although the conference was made so owing to “the high number of expected participants across all three Tours,” the notice indicated how any questions made by the players would be addressed through a “series of meetings and touchpoints over the next several weeks.”

Well, the news came out surprising since it was just two days ago that the new 16-member PAC was announced. Interestingly, nine players from the 2023 council did not continue with their position this year. However, some other notable golfers did maintain their place on the PAC, including the likes of Brian Harman, Sam Burns, Max Homa, Mackenzie Hughes, Keith Mitchell, Kevin Streelman, and Scottie Scheffler

Although the rumors of the deal ending soon have not been confirmed by any of the three golfing circuits, the convening of the council does paint a hopeful picture of the whole situation regarding the merger. But even so, only time would be able to tell us whether the new framework agreement goes in tandem with the principles of the members of the PAC. Nothing short of a green light if that happens. Fingers crossed!
