Dilbar is one of the most expensive superyachts on the planet, owned by Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov. Recently, Dilbar was arrested by German authorities in the northern city of Hamburg due to EU sanctions imposed on Russian oligarchs since the war in Ukraine.
Launched in 2016, the Lurssen shipyard, which created the Dilbar, has stated that it is one of the most complex and challenging yachts ever built, both in size and technology.
With a length of 156m, Dilbar is one of the longest superyachts in the world. The total capacity of the boat is 15,917 tonnage ( 1 tonnage = 2.83m3) . From the time the contract was signed to the time it was delivered to the new owner, the Lurssen shipbuilder and the designers worked for 52 months.
Dilbar is usually operated by a crew of 80 people, when necessary can be up to 96 people. Along with 24 passengers, Dilbar can carry up to 120 people.
The swimming pool on Dilbar is 25m long, can hold 180m3 of water and is the largest swimming pool ever designed on a superyacht.
Dilbar also has a large garden with a variety of grasses that are particularly resistant to salty air. The garden’s designer, German architect Axel Massmann, revealed that he chose plants from the Mediterranean region. Since Dilbar tends to be located between southern France, northern Spain and sometimes Cyprus, choosing plants grown in EU waters eliminates the worry of customs regulations banning the import of certain foods. foreign object.
The diesel-electric hybrid engine helps Dilbar reduce emissions while still being able to reach a maximum speed of 41.6 km / h. In addition, Dilbar also owns a 30,000 KW generator, the largest capacity ever equipped on a superyacht.
Dilbar is considered an engineering feat. A total of 1,100 km of cable (roughly the length of Bhutan’s total land border) was used to power all amenities and facilities on board.
Helicopters are an important means of moving between yachts and land. Dilbar is equipped with not one but two aprons where H175 helicopters can land. The first apron is open to the bow of the boat, the second is behind the flyover on the deck.
The ship’s exterior has been painted in pale ivory by designer Espen Oeino with copper accents to create a bright look. The interior of the ship is made by Winch Design with luxurious and rich furnishings. Dilbar uses up more than 1,000 custom-made sofa cushions to match the interior style. Because not many pictures of the inside of the boat have been revealed, so far, Dilbar is still classified as a “mysterious” yacht of the world.
According to Boat International, the Dilbar yacht has a usable space of up to 3,800 square meters. With this area, Dilbar is likened to a floating mansion on the sea.
