The Rock warned Cody Rhodes that he would make him bleed at the start of Monday’s WWE Raw episode. That was the final segment of the show.

Rock beat Rhodes throughout the arena and threw him against a tour bus. Rhodes was bleeding from the forehead. Rock removed his weight-lifting belt, rubbed Cody’s blood on it, and stated, “I kept my promise to Mama Rhodes.”

The Rock took to Instagram to not only share behind-the-scenes footage of the attack, but also to note that he continued the attack despite being told by someone that they had gone off the air, as per storyline. He wrote:

“I hate constraints and bullshit rules – and just because some @wwe producer says, “clear” (meaning, we are no longer live on the air and the show is over) that doesn’t mean I just stop whatever I’m doing and tell everyone great job.
It fucking pissed me off. I can’t shut my high emotions off just because a script says we’re done.

But even in this crazy fucking world of pro wrestling – this is a microcosm of a larger issue I have with individuals, corporations & governments – telling us what we can or can’t do. You have to do it this way, you have to say it that way, or you’ll get cancelled.
They create fear if you have a different perspective and don’t live by their rules.
It’s their way, or no way.

Fuck that.
I say it the way I want to say it.
I do it the way I want to do it.

My choice.
Our choice.

Fuck your “clear”

– Final Boss”

The Rock released unseen footage of his Monday Night Raw attack on Cody Rhodes as part of a post on X on Friday.

Accompanied by a lengthy message, The Rock posted video of himself continuing to rant and hit Rhodes with a weight belt even after a producer told him Raw was off the air.

The Rock shouted, “F–k that,” after receiving the all clear message, and said, “F–k him,” in reference to Rhodes as he walked away, leaving Cody battered and bloodied.

On Monday’s Raw, The Rock made a surprise appearance, as he was not previously advertised to be part of the show.

The Great One interrupted Rhodes’ promo to open the show, but he didn’t get on the mic. Instead, The Rock whispered something in Cody’s ear, smiled and walked away, leaving fans wondering what he said.

Jey Uso faced Shinsuke Nakamura in he main event of Raw, and when Bloodline members Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa made their way to ringside, Rhodes and Seth Rollins came out to make the save.

Jimmy fought Cody into the backstage area, which allowed The Rock to execute his plan by attacking The American Nightmare from behind.

The People’s Champ hit Rhodes with a garbage can and threw him outside the building. He then proceeded to ram Cody into his own tour bus multiple times, causing him to bleed from his forehead.

To add insult to injury, The Rock rubbed Cody’s blood on a belt that had “Mama Rhodes” written on it, and The Rock used it as an opportunity to taunt both Cody and his mother.

Monday’s angle added a ton of heat to the main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 40 next weekend, which will see The Rock and undisputed WWE universal champion Roman Reigns team up against Rhodes and Rollins.

If Rhodes and Rollins win, then The Bloodline will not be allowed to get involved in the Night 2 main event between Rhodes and Reigns, but if The Rock and Reigns win, the Night 2 main event will be contested under Bloodline rules.

The Rock’s heel turn has been unexpected, but it has produced some of the most compelling content in pro wrestling in recent memory, and it undoubtedly has fans highly anticipating WrestleMania.
