WWE fans spotted Roman Reigns’ reaction when he was getting pinned by Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40

Rhodes ‘finished the story’ as he beat Reigns to become the new undisputed WWE universal champion.

The main-event showdown, which was held under Bloodline Rules, saw The Rock, John Cena and The Undertaker interfere in one of the greatest moments in wrestling history.

Rhodes pinned Reigns after a gruelling clash at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field.

And WWE fans on social media think they spotted Reigns’ telling reaction as he surrendered his title.

Whilst getting pinned, Reigns appeared to have a smile on his face, which didn’t go unnoticed among fans online.

One X user wrote: “He knew that it was time. He had his run and now it’s the next guys turn. Love to see this.”

A second tweeted: “That’s selfless and unselfish. This was a happy moment for everyone.”

A third added: “Cause he was happy that Cody finally get to finish the story for his dad.”

A fourth said: “He knew he just gave us the greatest story ever.”

Another referenced The Rock, adding: “Roman needs to go heal up, refresh those batteries and get ready for a story for the ages with the Final Boss.”

After the match, Rhodes, who wore a ‘The Story Continues’ t-shirt, revealed that Triple H and Nick Khan presented him with the same watch his father pawned so he could go to drama school.

He also insists he’s not friends with Reigns but holds him in high regards following his incredible reign as champion.
