In an interview with Vogue about her new movie Heart of Stone, Gal Gadot shared her views on Egyptian Queen Cleopatra. Accordingly, the actress wants to change the perspective of this legendary Queen in the eyes of the public.
“If Wonder Woman is a strong female leader in fantasy, then Cleopatra is a real person. That’s a perfect example of the story I wanted to tell. Because in the different books I read about Cleopatra, All I saw portrayed was that she was a seductive woman who had affairs with Julius Caesar and Marc Anthony,” the actress shared.
However, with Gal Gadot, the actress wanted to portray Cleopatra as someone ahead of her time.
“Egypt in general and the Egypt of that era in particular are still many things ahead of us today. For me, I am passionate about retelling the story of the Queen of Egypt and bringing justice to the character.” This is also the legacy she left behind,” Gal Gadot said.
“We have a great script and I can’t wait to share this story with the world,” the actress continued, “It’s a completely different story, changing the audience’s perspective that Cleopatra is more than just a charming person”.
The movie Heart of Stone is expected to officially premiere on August 11.
