Rhea Ripley has broken her silence after being forced to vacate her WWE women’s world title.
The Adelaide-born sensation, 27, was left shattered following an injury sustained with bitter rival Liv Morgan during a backstage fight during Tuesday’s (AEST) episode of WWE Raw.
Shortly after her heartbreaking announcement, Ripley took to X to simply share her sensational reign as champion.
‘380 Days,’ she tweeted.
Her impressive stats were followed by a heartfelt statement for her fans: ‘See you on the other side.’
During Tuesday’s episode, Ripley was thrown into a wall and it quickly became obvious she wouldn’t be wrestling anytime soon.
In March, Ripley defended her title against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler — and recently also beat all-time legend Becky Lynch at WrestleMania XL.
Ripley’s loyal fans were stunned after her shock announcement.
Thank You Mami
With her arm in a sling, she choked back tears as the crowd chanted her name and thanked her for an incredible title reign.
‘This championship means the most to me in my entire life and that’s why this is so painful,’ she said on Raw.
In chaotic scenes, Ripley was visibly angry at being forced to vacate her crown.
Her many supporters agreed, chanting ‘bulls***’.
On her way out of the arena, Ripley was embraced by WWE boss Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque and her Judgement Day teammates.
The setback comes after Ripley – whose real name is Demi Bennett – rose through the ranks to become arguably the greatest Aussie export in pro wrestling history.
She first became known by WWE fans after her participation in the Mae Young Classic in 2017 – and since then, her goth-rocker character has developed a cult like following.
At this stage, the severity of Ripley’s injury remains unknown. She is expected to be sidelined for a number of months.
