On Saturday, August 3, 2024, WWE will host the SummerSlam Premium Live Event from the Cleveland Browns Stadium in Ohio. Many top names are currently set to compete at the show, including CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, and Liv Morgan.
However, with a big show such as this, the opportunity for absent stars to make a comeback is tantalizing.
One star that many feel is destined to make his return in the coming weeks or months is the former Undisputed WWE Champion, Roman Reigns. Therefore, in addition to the Tribal Chief himself, we are going to look at two stars who might make their returns at SummerSlam.
3. WWE’s Queen might return to capture her throne
While the active WWE women’s division hosts a list of top stars, its arguably biggest star is still out of action.
Charlotte Flair has been away from the ring since December last year when she picked up a severe injury on SmackDown in a match with Asuka. During the contest, the former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus.
Having now been out of action for almost eight months, as well as recently posting photos on her social media accounts where she appears to be in in-ring shape, fans of Flair’s are keen to see her back in the ring.
Given that two top-tier women’s title matches are scheduled to take place at SummerSlam. Cleveland Browns Stadium would be the perfect place for Charlotte to make her much-anticipated return to World Wrestling Entertainment.
2. Another member of The Bloodline might be back for revenge
Following WrestleMania 40, the previous Bloodline that fans knew was no longer present. After Roman Reigns lost his title to Cody Rhodes on the Grandest Stage of Them All, Solo Sikoa kicked his brother Jimmy Uso out of the faction on the following episode of SmackDown.
With Sikoa now seemingly the leader of The Bloodline, the young star has looked to shape the faction in his image, having brought in dangerous performers in the form of Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu.
The Bloodline is set for a big night at SummerSlam with Sikoa challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Title and Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa potentially going for tag team gold.
If Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa perform on that night, then that would be a great time for Jimmy Uso to return and cost his family members their shot at the gold.
One person who has given his thoughts on a potential Bloodline civil war is Jimmy Uso’s brother Jey. He said while speaking to the Daily Mail that he would be willing to reunite with his brother to take on Sikoa and the new Bloodline.
“Family fight all the time. My answer would be yeah, I would like to run a babyface Bloodline back, let alone against Solo Sikoa, and now it’s Tama Tonga and whoever else he wants to bring in. But I think the people would really dig seeing a civil war.”
1. The Tribal Chief might seek to reclaim his spot at the Head of the Table
Roman Reigns has not made an appearance in WWE since his record-setting run as champion ended at WrestleMania 40 at the hands of Cody Rhodes. The Tribal Chief has rarely spoken on his social media platforms as well, with many fans now desperate for him to return.
With Solo Sikoa and his version of The Bloodline violently kicking out Jimmy Uso and Paul Heyman from the group, Roman is surely determined to get his hands on the renegades within his family.
Speaking on a recent episode of SmackDown, Solo Sikoa took a shot at his cousin, stating that Roman is no longer the Tribal Chief.
“This is not what I wanted. But this is what my family needed. Roman Reigns was not man enough to defend our title at WrestleMania; he was not man enough to defend our legacy against Cody Rhodes and his legacy. Therefore, he shall no longer call himself the tribal chief, because I am the tribal chief now, and I am going to take back our Undisputed WWE title from Cody Rhodes, and if Roman Reigns wants that back, he can try and take it from me.”
Solo Sikoa will take on Cody Rhodes, assumably, in the main event of SummerSlam, with the Undisputed WWE title on the line. With the fate of the WWE and The Bloodline in the balance, Roman Reigns may ironically have to help Cody Rhodes retain to make sure Sikoa does not win the title to become the new Head of the Table.
