Detroit-born rap superstar Big Sean released “Better Me Than You”, his first studio album since 2020’s “Detroit 22. It’s a project that shows Sean’s growth, not just as an artist but as a person. After taking time to explore other aspects of life, Sean came back stronger than ever, delivering an album packed with his full versatility.
In an interview with Forbes, Big Sean opened up about his performance at the iHeart festival in Las Vegas, working with top producers on the new album, and the importance of mental health. But what really caught everyone’s attention? The quick mention of his time hanging with Detroit legend Eminem.
Sean casually dropped the fact that he’s had incredible moments in his career, like sitting down with Stevie Wonder, Kanye West, and, yes — Eminem. “I’ve sat with Eminem, eating pizza, talking about South Park and writing raps”, Sean said. Despite all the big names he has worked with, this was the only time Em came up in the chat.
It’s funny that Forbes jumped on that mention and ran with it, headlining their piece: “Sunday Conversation: Big Sean On New Album, Communication, And Eminem”. Even Forbes knows that the Slim Shady name can still move mountains! When you have Eminem in the story, it is hard not to capitalise on it.
Either way, Big Sean’s album is worth checking out, and it is great to see that even in a casual convo, the connection between Detroit’s finest rappers stays strong.
