Tom Cruise swims off the coast of Mallorca

The actor has been photographed with film director Alejandro González Iñárritu on the beach of Formentor in Pollença

Dip in the waters of the Balearic Islands and a sailboat ride along the northern coast of Mallorca with the film director Alejandro González Iñárritu. This has been the latest plan of Hollywood actor Tom Cruise, who has declared his love for Spain on some occasions.

As reported by the Daily Mail, which provides details of the actor’s getaway to the island, the purpose of this visit would have been to scout locations for the next film by the Mexican filmmaker starring the lead actor of Mission Impossible.

The 61-year-old actor has enjoyed a few days of sun and sea on the island. The photos show him taking a swim at the beach of Formentor or Cala Pi de la Posada, known for its white sand and crystal clear water. “Tom Cruise was in a very good mood when he took off his shirt to take a dip over the weekend,” reports the British newspaper, which offers some images showing the artist swimming in the waters of Pollença.

Cruise was wearing navy blue swim trunks, a grey t-shirt, and a straw hat for sun protection. After the swim, he put on some socks and sneakers. The Daily Mail emphasizes the good physical shape in which the Hollywood star finds himself at 61. “Known for performing his own stunts and staying in fantastic shape, the actor showed off his muscular body while spending the day at Formentor beach. The actor and director took a swim and then boarded a sailboat to sail around the northern end of the island of Mallorca.”

Last February, it was announced that Cruise was in talks with Warner Bros. to work on a film with González Iñárritu, who has directed titles such as Birdman, Amores perros, or The Revenant. According to Deadline, Tom has been “one of the first” actors to speak with the director about what would be the filmmaker’s first English-language movie in nine years.

The protagonist of Top Gun has taken this getaway to take a professional break after recently filming the next installment of the Mission Impossible franchise in London, which could be released in May 2025.

During the filming of this eighth movie in the saga, which will likely be called Mission Impossible: Deadly Sentence Part Two, London has been affected by several street closures and cuts. Earlier this month, they even built a Trafalgar Square subway station, which does not exist in real life, for a scene.
