The airy Montecito estate where models Bella, Gigi — and their singer brother Anwar Hadid — grew up has hit the market.
This approximately 7,000-square-foot, Mediterranean-style California crib has had a number of owners and updates since the Hadids lived there, but it still features a number of aesthetic preferences from the Hadids’ time there, according to Architectural Digest, which first reported the $8.85 million listing.
“It’s a blend of old and new with elegant touches in a practical setting, which is perfect for three horse-crazy kids and a busy single mom,” the celebrity siblings’ mother and TV personality Yolanda Hadid told Santa Barbara Magazine of the home back in 2012. “When choosing this house I knew it was the place my children would grow up. We’re about dusty riding clothes and muddy boots, not dressing up. Formality and having things on a grand scale was our old life in Los Angeles. This home and keeping things in perspective is our new life here.”
In the years since 2012, the California compound’s kitchen, living room, media room and landscaping have all been updated, according to press materials, but elements of the European-lodge look remain.
Through the front gate, the grounds open to a courtyard driveway with an outdoor fireplace. Through the front door is a living room with vaulted ceilings and fireplace, off of which is a formal dining room with upholstered walls.
In all, the house has five bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, a media room with outside access, a kitchen connected to the fireplace- and built-in-equipped family room, and a primary suite with a walk-in closet, an ensuite bath and an adjoining sitting room.
Outside, there is a swimming pool, a spa, a cabana, a covered patio and a BBQ area. The listing is held by Grubb Campbell Group of Village Properties/Luxury Portfolio International.
